A US gambling giant BetMGM announces its online sports betting app will launch in Puerto Rico with Casino del Mar at La Concha Resort.
Puerto Rico is the company’s second betting market outside the US mainland for launching BetMGM’s online sportsbook. BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said via a BetMGM news release:
“BetMGM is ecstatic to become the first operator to deliver mobile sports betting to Puerto Rico. This great collaboration between local officials and Casino del Mar provides a safe, responsible and entertaining product accessible from anywhere on the island.”
The BetMGM app offers a user-friendly experience, allowing Puerto Rico residents to customize pre-game, live in-play, futures and parlay bets.
As part of the online app registration process, Puerto Ricans must validate their ID in person at the BetMGM Sportsbook at the Casino Del Mar resort in San Juan.

Regarding regulated retail sports betting, BetMGM was the first operator to debut in Puerto Rico when it went live in February 2022. Casino del Mar and BetMGM first partnered in September 2021 and were ready to launch sports betting before the market went live.
Casino del Mar opened a permanent $3.5 million sportsbook and lounge in December 2022. It featured 12 self-service kiosks and five betting windows.
