If you are visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee, you will want to check out Ole Red — owned and operated by country music star Blake Shelton.
I recently had the chance to visit the venue and I had an absolute great time — plus the burgers were incredible!
The entire restaurant is extremely open, giving visitors a great view of the place.
“We’re more than a venue and, hell, we’re more than a restaurant,” the website states of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Restaurant. “Ole Red is THE full country experience that will get your ass and your taste buds boot-scootin’ with what we like to call 100-proof live music, scratch-made dishes, and signature drinks…all inspired by the boss man himself: Blake Shelton.”
Front and center, there is a stage where some local artists come in and play. When we visited Friday afternoon, Carson Peters, who received a Four-Chair Turn for his performance of Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time” on “The Voice” blind auditions in 2021.
“We don’t like to brag (yeah we do), but Ole Red has got the music,” the website states. “And we mean the good music. Get up close and personal with tomorrow’s and today’s country stars at Ole Red, where the hottest talent comes to play and where you’ll find the biggest sound on a small stage. Grab your drink, put on your dancing shoes, and cozy right up to the stage and say you heard them when.”
To start, I ordered the Warden, which is bourbon, peach, iced tea, and fresh lemon juice. This drink is dangerous! It tastes just like peach tea, and you can barely taste the alcohol. Try not to suck this one down!
The second drink I tried was the Dirty Tractor — consisting of Ole Smoky Salted Watermelon Whiskey, fresh lime juice and ginger ale. This one was definitely sweeter than I had anticipated, but still delicious!
Both my husband and I ordered the Oklahoma Onion Burger — I got it with a Beyond patty as I am a pescatarian.
Both of our burgers were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The buns were soft and the toppings were all fresh, but what made these burgers stand out were the beer onions!
The fries were also seasoned well and came out hot and crispy, though there was nothing extremely special about them. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t memorable.
Blake Shelton has other locations throughout the United States, including in Nashville, Tennessee (as well as the Nashville airport), Orlando, Florida, and Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which is Shelton’s hometown and where he currently lives with his wife Gwen Stefani.
A new location, Ole Red Las Vegas, is also opening late this year. “If you are going to do something here, you’ve got to do it big,” Shelton said in a press release via the Ole Red website. “Every time I’m in Vegas, I want some country music and Ole Red is the remedy for that.”
