Cricket is at the heart of India. No wonder then that OTT aficionados are going gung-ho about a new documentary on the sport, Caught Out: Crime Corruption Cricket directed by Supriya Sobti Gupta. It chronicles India’s biggest match-fixing scandal and the icons caught in its web and this movie is now trending in the Top Ten segment of a leading OTT platform. The 77-minute long documentary by Gupta, a veteran journalist who has worked with BBC and Al Jazeera features players and journalists who exposed this web and others behind match-fixing. In the director’s words, “The idea was to give the audience a front seat into knowing what happened in the scandal… of how it unravelled….”
Twitter user Abhinandan tweeted, “…kaise mahaul and kaisi team mein Sachin ne apna adha se jyada career bitaya tha 90s mein… huge credit to Ganguly to rebuild team from 2000 onwards and bring ICT out of match fixing gallows….”

Akshay Bhandari, another twitter user said the “documentary tells you that decisions were taken to save the game instead…. They played with the emotions of the game lovers. It left a deep hatred for the game.”
As a tweet from The Quint declares, Caught Out “gets up close and personal with the dirt in the game uncovered at the start of the 21st century in India. In that sense, it focuses purely on that tumultuous year when everything about the game seemed to be a lie and made you question your undying love for a sport that hooked you to it since your early years.”
