After a 3-year hiatus, the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), touted as India’s biggest ‘sportainment’ event with 8 teams from 8 film industries across the country, is gearing up to kick-start on the 18th of February. Tollywood is represented by Telugu Warriors and is led by Akhil Akkineni as its captain.
According to the latest updates, CCL will be streamed live on 9 TV channels. In their first encounter, Telugu Warriors will be locking horns with Kerala Strikers which is representing the Malayalam film industry. Kerala Strikers is led by actor Kunchacko Boban.
A total of 19 matches will be played across 6 cities, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Cochin, Raipur and Jodhpur, while the finals will be played in Hyderabad on the 19th of March. A new format of a combination of Test and T20 cricket will be followed in the tournament.
Apart from Akhil, Venkatesh, Srikanth, Sachin Joshi, Sudheer Babu, Tarun, Prince, Sai Dharam Tej, Ajay, Ashwin Babu, Adarsh Balakrishna, Nanda Kishore, Nikhil, Siddharth, Prabhu, Raghu, Sushanth, Samrat and Viswa are part of Telugu Warriors.
