18:30 Chelmsford: Betsi Handicap (6 furlongs)
The favourite, Baldomero, has won just twice in 30 attempts, the second of which came in March 2022, which suggests his price is too short under the circumstances.
The potential value elsewhere in the market brings in the youngest sprinter in the line-up, the three-year-old Zaman Jemil, who is still completely unexposed on the all-weather after just the one previous run, which he won easily at Newcastle in August last year.

Since then, he has won another six-furlong handicap, beating seven rivals in Class 3 company at Thirsk in July this year, a race he won comfortably by one and a half lengths under today’s rider, Richard Kingscote.
Zaman Jemil was highly tried in Listed company at Redcar last time, and that was over seven furlongs, a trip over which he hadn’t run for a year, so it is easy to overlook that run.
Back down to his optimum trip, and racing off 91, the same mark off which he had earlier run second in this grade at Thirsk, he must have a good chance back on the all-weather.
There should be plenty more to come from this unexposed all-weather sprinter and, from a very handy draw in stall 2, from where he should be able to track the favourite, a prominent runner who could well opt to go from the front from the inside berth, Zaman Jemil can take care of today’s older opposition.
Suggested bet: Zaman Jemil in the 18:30 at Chelmsford
Elsewhere, stall 8 is far from ideal for Justcallmepete but he is a very reliable performer under these conditions, and he looks likely to go well nevertheless.
He is one of only two previous course-distance winners in the field and he runs off the same mark as he did when running within a length or so of the winner in a higher-graded Class 2 handicap over this trip at Kempton earlier this month.
That run showed him to still be in top form and, in contrast to the favourite, he has six all-weather wins to his name, the most recent of which was over this very trip at the end of August, when he beat ten Class 3 rivals by a clear two lengths under his regular partner, Dougie Costello, who has partnered him to all his wins.
Next best bet: Justcallmepete in the 18:30 at Chelmsford
