Brad Brownell and the Tigers made a major splash in the transfer portal Sunday as a top-tier guard announced his commitment to Clemson.
Former Syracuse guard Joseph Girard III announced via Twitter Sunday that he will take his talents to Clemson after four seasons with the Orange. The Tigers beat out the LSU Tigers for his commitment, landing a huge piece heading into next season.
Girard was one of the top players in the transfer portal and is coming off a career year. He averaged a team-high 16.4 points per game, shooting 38.1% from three on the year. He added 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.
This acquisition is a huge move for the team; Brownell must be thrilled. If Girard finds a little more consistency outside of the three-ball next season, he could be one of the most dangerous scorers in the country.
