Dartmouth football coach Buddy Teevens was injured in a bicycle accident in St. Augustine, Florida Thursday and has been hospitalized, the school said Saturday.
In its announcement, Dartmouth said that Teevens was involved in a collision in St. Augustine, where his family has a home. It said that Teevens’ family is not accepting visitors at the moment, and that out of respect for his family any updates on his condition will be made available “in accordance with their wishes.”
The school said that Teevens was “an avid cyclist.”
The 66-year-old is a Dartmouth grad who was the Ivy League Player of the Year as the team’s quarterback. He is also the school’s winningest coach.
Teevens has wrapped two stints at Dartmouth’s head coach around stops with Tulane and Stanford. He was the Ivy League Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2021, and has a record of 117-101-2 at the school.
