DJ Khaled has announced the launch of his inaugural We the Best Foundation Golf Classic.
In a press release on Thursday (June 8), the music mogul revealed the Jordan-sponsored charity event will go down at the Miami Beach Golf Club on July 20. Proceeds will benefit the We the Best Foundation’s endeavors in education, the arts and more.
“Just to be out on the golf course with close friends and family of mine is a blessing,” Khaled said in a statement. “Giving back makes it even better. I can’t wait to see you all at the first-ever We the Best Foundation Golf Classic.
“We’re starting something very special here while introducing the sport of golf to a wider community,” he said in a press release.
The festivities begin with a VIP reception with sponsors and special guests on July 19, followed by the tournament the next morning and an awards reception at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.

DJ Khaled only recently caught the golfing bug, but he can’t get enough of the sport. Last month, he graced the cover of Golf Digest, calling the honor a “dream come true.”
“When I’m done playing golf, and I walk into the studio, I have a clear mind,” he told the publication. “On this new album, a lot of my great ideas came from me sitting on the golf course or me walking the fairway and just thinking.
“A lot of my great ideas come out when I jump in the car on the way home after a beautiful day of golf, and I’m driving home, and I’m saying ‘Man, I got a dope idea. I’m gonna go lay it down in the studio.’”
Khaled’s love for golf has spread to both of his children as he built a miniature golf course in the backyard of his mansion so he’s never too far from working on his game.
“My kids, they fell in love, too,” he added. “We built a golf course in our backyard — just got it done today, actually — so they’re both golfing every day. On the weekends they come out and play with me. They also take lessons, but they are natural with it.
“I’m telling you, some people are just natural with it, but you can’t be natural and take it for granted. You gotta perfect it. At a young age, I can already tell they are going to be playing golf for sure. I’m not putting it on them. They naturally want to play golf.”
“LETS GO GOLFING TV SHOW it’s in works. my team said KHALED it’s biding war for the show,” Khaled wrote on Instagram in March. “I WIILL TAKE YOU IN THE WORLD OF GOLF FROM MY VIEW AND HOW WE DO, AND THEN ITS GETS EVEN MORE AMZING ON THE SHOW TO SEE WHAT HAPPMS AFTER WE PLAY GOLF!”
He added: “BE BE READY ! #LETSGOGOLFING @wethebest FILMS @markwahlberg let’s pick the best network that sees the VISION!”
