Ahmedabad: Gujarat Cricket Institute (GCI) ‘A’ registered 154-run victory over MPower U-12 in their match at the SPCT U-12 Cricket Tournament here on Friday. The victory took GCI ‘A’ into final. Batting first, GCI ‘A’ scored 228 for eight in 50 overs. Aryan Soni (65) and Yuvraj Kishanchandani (44) shone with bat, while MPower’s Naman Dash and Yajanaey Pathak took two wickets each.
MPower batters, however, had no answers to the guile of Aryan Patel who took five for 21 and was named man of the match. Jainam took two for 10. For MPower, only Arnav Yadav (25) and Jaiwal Dalwadi (22) could offer some resistance as the team was all out for 74 in 26.5 overs.
CNSA gymnasts excel at
Khelo India Youth Games
Nishi Bhavsar, a student of CN Sports Academy (CNSA), won gold medal in gymnastics at the Khelo India Youth Games in Gwalior recently. Thirteen-year-old Nisha competed in artistic gymnastics and her gold came in the balancing beam event. Fifteen-year-old Diya Thakore, another CNSA gymnast, bagged three silver medals in artistic gymnastics for her performance on floor, uneven bar and balancing beam.
Both the girls have been training at the CN Sports Academy’s gymnastics facility for six years under coach Harish Chandera. In all, six gymnasts from CNSA — Soha Parikh, Nandini Bhadani, Hirva Thakker, Swara Rathod, Diya Thakore and Nishi Bhavsar — had qualified for the Khelo India Youth Games.
