NEW LONDON — The fifth-ranked (Class A) New London-Spicer girls tennis team snatched a victory from visiting Minnewaska on Monday.
The Wildcats were perfect in doubles play in a 6-1 victory at NLS High School.
Leading the way for the Wildcats was the No. 1 duo of Delaney Hanson and Madisyn Claseman. They beat the Lakers’ Olivia Danielson and Avarie Uhde, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Minnewaska’s lone win came at No. 1 singles as Alia Randt beat Amyra Gamez, 6-2, 6-2.
The Wildcats play host to Annandale at 4 p.m. Thursday at New London. Minnewaska travels to Melrose at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
