GREEN BAY (WLUK) — After learning how to take their art and turn it into a business, several artists from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College have their art on display at the Art Garage in Green Bay.
NWTC’s Artisan and Business Center opened the exhibit for its Artist Residency Program Friday night.
Five artists from the program are displaying and selling their artwork. Those artists are Chelle Diederich, Amber Hendricks, Chue Lo, Carlie Petersen and Christine Van Sickle.
Hendricks explained that NWTC’s program helps artists avoid becoming a “starving artist.”
“I don’t know that I would ever have an opportunity like this before without being a part of this program,” said Hendricks. “So, it’s really awesome that the local artists get the chance to showcase their work for everyone to see. It’s necessary to get out and support your local artists and your small businesses, and so this — what they do is just amazing, it really is.”
The show runs to July 1.
