Having tipped a trio of winners (5/6, 5/2, 5/2) in Sunday’s column, we head into a new week looking to continue that excellent form and we are back with our best bets for Monday’s action from a host of racing writers. Five meetings take place today and it all kicks off at Stratford at 13:00, while there’s alternative racing Pontefract, Windsor, Tipperary and Wolverhampton in what should be another action-packed day of racing…
Owned by His Majesty The King, Improvise could prove to be a cut above her rivals in the 14:30 at Ponetfract today, and the Royal runner has proven to be the most popular selection with our racing tipsters. Second placed in the naps table, Garry Owen from the Daily Record and two other tipsters have napped the Michael Bell-trained filly who is an 11/4 shot to claim glory this afternoon and she will attempt to build on second placed finishes at Newmarket and Epsom.
Farringdon from The Morning Star is taking on the Royal runner with a monster priced runner in the shape of Like A Lion, who is a whopping 40/1 outsider for the event, and the Tim Easterby-trained charge will need to improve considerably from a fifth placed finish at Beverley last time out.
Lawrence Taylor from At The Races is the form tipster in the naps table as he racked up a third winning nap on Sunday and is bidding for the four-timer on Monday. Taylor is another that heads to Yorkshire and picks out his best bet in the 15:40 at Ponetfract, where he is backing the 6/1 shot Silver Screen, who was second last time out at Yarmouth for Jack Jones, and the filly is tipped to go one better today.
Luke Tucker of the Cambridge Evening News had a sparkling weekend with two winning naps, and that top tipster heads to Stratford’s National Hunt fixture on Monday and Tucker has napped the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained 11/2 chance Templehills in the 13:00, which is the first race of the entire day.
With a profit of £44.46, Expert Eye remains at the top of the standings and the red-hot tipster heads to Windsor this afternoon for his best bet of the day. The On The Nose tipster is backing the red-hot 5/4 favourite Star Player, who looks the one to beat i the 15:47 event for Simon & Ed Crisford. A winner at Epsom back in August, the son of Zoffany failed to follow up when second at Yarmouth, but he heads into this event in fine fettle and has to be tough to beat, if at his best.
Lambourn from The Racing Post is third in the naps table and is another heading to Windsor’s Flat card on Monday and that tipster is backing the 5/1 chance My Mate Ted in the 17:32 race, while another selection at the Berkshire venue worth noting is the James Fanshawe-trained Kilmova, who is a 9/2 chance for the 16:22 race and is the best bet of Matt Polley from the Ipswich Star.
There’s National Hunt racing at Tipperary and those looking for an Irish nap of the day could follow Ian Gaughran from the Irish Herald, as he attempts to build on his current sixth placed position in the naps table. Gaughran is backing the Philip Rothwell-trained Union Park, who is a 3/1 chance for the 16:40 contest, as that raider looks to claim a first victory over fences.
