There’s top class racing at Longchamp on Sunday with the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe the main event at 15:05, but there’s some decent action on UK & Irish soil with four meetings taking place today and the action all gets under way at Killarney at 13:00. There’s alternative action at Uttoxeter, Tipperary and Kelso and we preview all Sunday’s racing here and pick out some of the best bets from a host of racing tipsters…
Unable to get his head in front in two starts, Aidan O’Brien’s Covent Garden will look to break his maiden tag at the third time of asking on Sunday when he lines up in the 13:15 at Tipperary and the Ballydoyle raider has proven extremely popular with our racing tipsters. Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post and Paul Kealy from The Weekender have napped the son of Galileo, who is a red-hot 5/4 favourite to land his first win today in what is an intriguing maiden event to kick off the day’s racing at Tipperary.
There’s an intriguing four-runner renewal of the NSPCC School Service Simply Ned Handicap Chase at Kelso at 15:12 and last year’s winner Nuts Well is attempting to retain the crown he won in fine style last season, and that charge has been napped by three tipsters for today’s contest, and is an 11/4 chance to do the double. Taking on the Ann Hamilton-trained raider is Peter Niven’s Malystic, and that raider is a 15/8 market leader, at the time of writing, and is another that has been napped by three tipsters for what should be a cracking contest.
Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero’s Lucky Lover Boy has been in tremendous form of late notching up two wins and a second place in his last three outings, and the in-form performer is another that has been napped by three tipsters on Sunday, and the 7/4 favourite looks the one to beat in the 15:28 at Uttoxeter. Lining up off the same mark as his last win, Lucky Lover Boy is the nap of the day for both Newsboy from the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Express tipster.
Lawrence Taylor of At The Races has been in excellent tipping form and is bidding for a third winning nap on the bounce today and is backing the Joseph O’Brien-trained Statement, who is a 5/2 shot for the 14:25 at Tipperary. Last seen winning a Listed event at Cork, the four-year-old will look to build on that effort in Group 3 company this afternoon and looks the one to beat.
Taking on Taylor will be naps table leader Expert Eye, who tops the naps standings with a profit of £45.46, and the table-topper has napped the 7/1 Snapraeterea, who failed to sparkle in Listed company last time out and will need to improve significantly to land a blow in this company.
Garry Owen of the Daily Record is second in the naps table and will be attempting to try and reel in Expert Eye and Owen heads to Kelso for his best bet of the day, and he’s backing the 9/4 chance Onward Route in the 13:25 race, while the third placed tipster Lambourn from the Racing Post is backing the 6/4 favourite Colonel Harry in the 13:43 at Uttoxeter.
