Chasing a target of 118 runs, Australia raced to 121/0 in 11, with Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head smacking unbeaten half-centuries. Initially, India were bowled out for 117 in 26 overs, with Mitchell Starc taking a fifer. Meanwhile, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis bagged two wickets each.
The hosts won the first ODI by five wickets in Mumbai earlier, to take a 1-0 lead. With regular captain Rohit Sharma absent for the match, Hardik Pandya skippered the side to a win. Chasing a target of 189 runs, India raced to 191/5 in 39.5 overs, with KL Rahul hammering an unbeaten knock of 75 runs off 91 balls. Meanwhile, Starc took a three-wicket haul. Australia were initially bowled out for 188 in 35.4 overs, with Marsh smacking 81 off 65 balls. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj bagged three wickets each for India.
