Katharine McPhee accidentally baked her son Rennie’s iPad in the oven after placing it there “to hide it.”
“The iPad is in the oven because he kept asking for it,” she said in the clip shared to her Instagram Stories Monday.
The “American Idol” alum, 39, then put on oven mitts, removed the melting device from the oven and placed it on the edge of the sink.
“Just over here cooking iPads. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I tried to hide it and forgot it was in there while hearing [sic] up the oven for my chicken special,” she captioned the video.
“Poor Rennie saying ‘Help me Mommy.’”
McPhee and her 73-year-old husband, David Foster, tied the knot in June 2019 and welcomed their son, Rennie, in February 2021.
The Grammy-winning musician is also a dad to daughters Allison, Amy, Sara, Erin and Jordan from previous relationships.
In August, their family was struck with tragedy after Rennie’s nanny, Yadira Calito, was killed in a motor accident.
Calito was fatally struck by an 84-year-old woman who drove a Toyota RAV4 into the covered service bay driveway at a Toyota dealership in San Fernando Valley, Calif.
Calito had been waiting for her car to be serviced at the time of the incident, and authorities at the scene claimed the driver mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

The 55-year-old was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
After McPhee learned about the “horrible family tragedy,” she was forced to leave her husband’s “Hitman” tour in Asia and return home.
Last month, McPhee and Foster spoke out about how “tough” it has been for their family since Calito’s death.
“It’s been tough for her,” the composer told “Entertainment Tonight” alongside his wife. “Yeah, it’s been tough. She’s managing.”
