Central Mountain squared off against Shikellamy on the road on Monday afternoon and came away with a 3-2 win. Addison Lindsay and Teresa Temple picked up wins in singles while Catie Lugg and Jocelyn Sproat won in doubles one. The Wildcats overcame a 4-1 loss last meeting between the two teams.
“This was another big win for the Wildcat,” Central Mountain coach Tom Zettle said after the win. “The first time we played Shik they beat us 4-1. The first time we played them we didn’t have our No. 1 player Addison Lindsay so we had to move the all the girls up one spot.”
Jersey Shore blanked Williamsport, 5-0, for another huge win. Peyton Dincher, Celia Shemory and Addison Koch almost shutout singles, allowing just three points between the three matches. Rahel Hartman and Jaymison Stellfox won in doubles one and Addy Bower and Josie Gerst also picked up victories.

GIRLS SOCCER
Bald Eagle Area and Central played a thriller on Monday night but the Bald Eagles came up just short, 3-2, in overtime. Adrienne Hacker and Makenzie Bickle notched Bald Eagle’s two goals.
“Going into the half down 1-0 was tough, but I give the girls a lot of credit because they came out in the second half and scored two nice goals,” Bald Eagle Area coach Jared Moore said. “We conceded one late which really hurt us and then Central got off a shot through traffic in the first overtime period that went in. It was a bit of a heartbreaker for as hard as the girls were working.”
Central Mountain fell in a tough road matchup against Lewisburg on Monday night, 8-1. The Wildcats got the ball moving early on in the game as Lily Hendricks found the back of the net in the first half. But to end the half, and for the remainder of the second half, the momentum shifted to Lewisburg as the Green Dragons scored five second-half goals after three scores in the opening 40 minutes.
Central Mountain hosts Jersey Shore on Wednesday night at 7pm in its first home game of the season.
