MDA Ltd. said Thursday that it has secured a contract to supply Ka-band multibeam antennas for a satellite belonging to Argentina’s national telecommunications company.
The Canadian space industry company said the contract is with Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anonima AR-SAT, also known as ARSAT.
The antennas will be used on the company’s full-electric geostationary communications satellite, ARSAT-SG1, which will provide high-speed internet and digital video as well as voice services across Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile.
MDA didn’t provide any financial details of the contract, but said that it will be added to its backlog in the fourth quarter with an expected delivery period in mid-2024.
