Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second seed, advanced to the third round of the Miami Masters after Frenchman Richard Gasquet withdrew before the match with an ankle injury on Saturday at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 3, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 27 seed, and Chilean qualifier Cristian Garin next.
In the previous round of the Miami Open, Gasquet, ranked No 40, beat Australian lucky loser Christopher O’Connell (6-4, 3-6, 6-1).
