If you’re one of national treasure Michelle Keegan’s 6.6 Insta followers, you’ll know she serves up serious fitness inspo on the reg. You may have also seen her latest IG Story, showing her strong core. She shared the selfie alongside her pet puppy over the bank holiday, with her abs peeking through below her crop top.
Women’s Health previously caught up with Mich for the intel on exactly what she does to train them. First things first—ab workouts don’t have to be in the gym. Far from it. The Ten Pound Poms star Mich has a lot of opinions about health and fitness that will likely resonate with a lot of you. For one thing, she ‘hates the gym’.
‘I go to the gym. I hate the gym, I hate going to the gym, I hate walking into the gym but as soon as I leave I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders,’ she explains.
When she does make it to the gym, it’s straight to the weights room: ‘too much cardio makes [her] scrawny.’
One way she gets in ab workouts in whilst swerving the gym? She swears by YouTube videos and revealed she’s got a serious relationship with Eight Minute Abs workouts: ‘In the bedroom, the living room, the bathroom, the kitchen. [She’ll] do it anywhere.’
If the Michelle Keegan abs workouts—aka YouTube videos—aren’t for you, you might want to try the Michelle Keegan full body workout—you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
And when she comes to post ab workout refuel, she keeps it simple. She’s not a fan of kale and she’s partial to extra cheese. Our kind of girl.
Her usual breakfast tends to be rye bread and scrambled egg whites. On set, she usually eats eggs with tomatoes for breakfast, a portion of pasta for lunch and always a spoonful of dessert.
Everything in moderation.
