Scoot Henderson remains the unanimous No. 2 overall pick in all 10 mock drafts polled, despite some rumblings that Alabama’s Brandon Miller could push Henderson for the second overall pick.
Henderson had highlight-worthy dunks this season and improved his three-point shooting to 32.4 percent compared to 21.6 percent last season. He also grew as a leader and floor general averaging 6.4 assists compared to 4.2 last season.
“It’s easy to take the combination of what he’s accomplished, his character makeup, and what he’s capable of for granted,” G League Ignite GM Anthony McClish told HoopsHype. “His path and development are unprecedented. People like him aren’t plentiful, and it would be a costly mistake to think otherwise.”
Teams with bottom-five records, such as Houston, San Antonio, and Orlando, all may consider a point guard of the future like Henderson if Wembanyama is off the board.
Detroit has several ball-handling playmakers in Cade Cunnigham, Jaden Ivey and Killian Hayes. Charlotte has LaMelo Ball at point guard and would need to evaluate whether he and Henderson can co-exist.
