JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (March 18, 2023) – After finishing day one tied for 15th place at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, the No. 13 Denison University women’s golf team moved up five spots is now in a tie for 10th place after day two in Georgia.
Denison (325-303; 628) put together a great round two that saw the Big Red finish at 15-over-par, which was the fifth-lowest team score shot during round two and was good enough to help pull Denison into a tie with No. 9-ranked Methodist (318-310; 628). No. 6-ranked Washington and Lee (316-311; 627) is only one stroke ahead of the Big Red in ninth place.
Individually, Isabella Dolan (77-74; 151) shot plus-two on Saturday to move up five spots into a three-player tie for 18th place.
Laine Hursh (85-73; 158) and Ella McRoberts (80-78; 158) are in a five-player tie for 45th place after Hursh shot plus-one and moved up an incredible 47 spots on the leaderboard.
Hursh is tied for fourth place in the tournament in par-3 scoring (2.88; -1) while Dolan is tied for fifth in par-5 scoring (4.88; -1).
Lastly, Kate Griffin (83-78; 161) is tied for 58th place and moved up 18 spots from Friday while Lindsey Byer (87-87; 174) is tied for 106th place.
The third and final round from Jekyll Island is set for Sunday, March 19.
