Ribbon-cutting at kombucha tasting room
The Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce and the staff at Dr. Boochart’s Hard Kombucha invite the community to a ribbon-cutting celebrating the new facility and tasting room from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at 105 E. Grand Ave. The tasting room offers multiple choices on tap of its hard kombucha, a fermented alcoholic yerba mate-based beverage. County fair hiring seasonal workers
The San Diego County Fair is now hiring hundreds of seasonal workers in positions including for customer service, ticket sales, exhibits, agriculture, and parking and traffic. Administrative jobs are also open in facilities, finance, and production. The fair runs from June 7 to July 4, although employees may start work before then. Applicants who previously have worked for the fair can reapply for a job in their previous department or try something new. Pay starts at $15.50 per hour. Credit union earns video awards
San Diego County Credit Union was recently recognized with six 2022 Viddy Awards honoring creative excellence in the digital world. Out of more than 2,500 entries received, SDCCU received a Platinum Award for its “Pay $0” commercial, Gold Awards for its “Airport” video ads and a Biz Kid$ Videos featuring Jodi Kodesh, plus Honorable Mentions for its Instagram Reels video featuring Sandy, the company mascot, and a Savings video. The Viddy Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Award entries come from video production companies, advertising and public relations firms, corporate communication departments, cable and broadcast television operations, government agencies and schools, independent producers and more.
SCORE offers low-cost training workshops
SCORE San Diego volunteers are experienced entrepreneurs, managers and executives from diverse industries and specialties, offering their help in small-business training workshops. For $25, clients receive a two- to three-hour workshop, either in person at SCORE San Diego, 8825 Aero Drive, Suite 102, San Diego, or on Zoom; a PDF of the presentation; and a link to the final workshop video. Local brewers win awards at World Cup
The not-for-profit Brewers Association recently recognized 307 winners during the 2023 World Beer Cup in Nashville, including several from San Diego County. A panel of 272 judges from 26 countries evaluated 10,213 entries from 2,376 breweries representing 51 countries. Local brewers winning awards included:
