Paris Baguette is seeking to reach 200 UK stores via franchise partnerships by 2036 as part of wider plans to open 450 sites across Europe.
Owned by South Korean food conglomerate SPC Group, the bakery café chain opened its first UK store in October 2022 at London’s Battersea Power Station and opened its second company-operated store the following month on Kensington High Street.
The group, which is seeking to open its first franchised location before the end of 2023, forecasts steady outlet growth across greater London in 2024 and expects to reach 20 franchised UK outlets by 2025 before scaling across the rest of the UK and Europe.
“We are thrilled to announce franchise opportunities for Paris Baguette in the UK. As we expand our presence internationally, our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and authentic French bakery experiences remains unwavering. With our proven track record of success and a passion for delighting customers, we are confident that Paris Baguette will become a cherished destination for bakery lovers across the UK,” said Nico Gaillot, Chief Operating Officer, Paris Baguette UK.
Founded in 1988, Paris Baguette has a strong global presence with more than 4,000 stores across 10 countries, including Canada, the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, South Korea and France. The majority — 3,800 — of its outlets are franchised.
The bakery café chain will seek to replicate the recent success of its US franchise in the UK.
Having entered the US market in 2005 and begun franchising in the country in 2015, Paris Baguette expects to open 60 new stores and sign 130 franchise agreements this year to reach 180 US outlets.
It has a longer-term goal of reaching 1,000 outlets across North America by 2030.
