Penn State football brought in five transfer portal additions and eight true freshmen at the start of the first summer session earlier this month. And, last Monday, those 13 newcomers all officially were added to the roster with new heights and weights.
This Memorial Day, jersey numbers were added to their official roster profiles.

All part of a lead-in to preseason camp in late July, the Nittany Lions have two important dates to remember in the coming two months as they continue through their offseason preparation. The first is the June 22 return of the 20th annual Lift for Life, to be held at Penn State’s Lasch turf field. The second is July 26, which is when the Nittany Lions will take part in Big Ten Media Days.
As Penn State head coach James Franklin explained to On3’s J.D. PicKell on The Hard Count last week, the program is “full steam ahead” as the summer is underway.
“Right now, our coaches are on the road recruiting and doing a hell of a job flying all over the country. We’re back here doing our game breakdowns for our first four opponents. And our players have started summer school. They started summer school on Monday. So, they’re here doing workouts and getting some of the freshmen that were able to show up kind of adjusted to how we operate around here,” Franklin said. “So we’re kind of full steam ahead and excited about this year and what the season could bring.”
