PIQUA — For four decades a local business in Piqua has donated materials to its hometown baseball and softball fields ahead of their seasons.
Nikolas Holt is in charge of all the field maintenance for the Piqua Junior Baseball and Softball League.
He said having Piqua Materials donate every year is a huge help.
“Not only do we get a consistent same thing every year, we also get products that work well,” Holt said.

Dennis Garrison, president of Piqua Materials said his company has been donating to the rec and little league associations for as long as the current company owns it.
“I’m a huge baseball fan and I’ve coached little league baseball for over 15 years so it’s kind of a soft spot in my heart,” Garrison said.
Garrison said they donate the chalk that is sued to line the fields.
“In the spring we donate throughout the season and even if they have fall sports here, we still donate during the fall,” Garrison said.
The business also sponsors the local teams.
