Forbes Magazine named Riverhead as one of the top 50 places to visit in 2023.
Melville resident Tiffany Picone, who was headed to the Riverhead Aquarium with her children, says she wasn’t surprised to see a Long Island town make the list.
“Long Island is amazing – we have great stuff here,” Picone says.
Forbes mentioned the aquarium and noted that it’s not a trip to Riverhead without a picture by the 20-foot-tall duck.
Justine DiGigilo with Discover Long Island says Riverhead is the gateway to the East End of the Island and its Twin Forks.
“It kind of has it all, you’ll see on the southern side of town, a vibrant walkable downtown village and brewery scene, and on the northern side, it’s farm country,” DiGigilo says.
Forbes also highlighted Jamesport Brewery.
