Returned to form of old here in May with a close second to Dramatised in the Group 2 Temple Stakes.
That form looks like he could be back firing when coming close in numerous group contests and even winning the Group 2 Meydan Sprint in February 2021.
Has been expensive to follow since but this looks much more manageable and shows with his price.
He was giving away plenty of weight on his latest run to the winner, 13lb in all.
And still put in a huge performance – half a length clear of 109-rated Live In The Dream, well over a length ahead of Existent in who was in fourth and left the rest of the field even further back, respected.
What does appeal most are a couple of the younger horses in the field looking to make their mark in handicaps.
Lucky Man had Billy Loughnane confirmed to be riding earlier on in the week and should help him bounce back after a below par run on season debut, but he might have needed the run.
He was just 11/1 in that Class 2 handicap with 21 runners, and should return back to similar form when seen this time last year where he was a neck behind Gale Force Maya and beating the likes of Aphelios off a similar rating.
This Group 3 1m4f contest looks open with 11 runners and the already confirmed group level runners Time Lock, Eternal Pearl and Mimikyu lead the betting.
But Modaara is unexposed with just three runs to her name and won by a huge margin at Kempton on step up to 1m4f, despite carrying nearly two stone more than her closest rivals.
This Dubawi filly could be much better than her mark and that’s reflected in the early price of just 5/1 up against Group 2 filly winner Mimikyu.
Still an unexposed colt by Havana Gold trained by Karl Burke, who’s in exceptional form this season.
This is a colt that as a three-year-old won six in a row between May 2021 and May 2022.
Was joint favourite in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot over 6f but jockey Clifford Lee explained he was never travelling that day and ran flat.
And although a worrying display on seasonal debut in April it’s likely conditions weren’t suitable being on heavy ground and return to good ground at a course he’s won at before in Group company is likely to see him bounce back.
Step back up in trip to 7f isn’t a concern either as he’s won a listed stakes race at Lingfield over this distance last year ahead of Witch Hunter.
Impressive debutant at Leicester at the end of May a neck behind Golden Mind, despite being an 8/1 shot.
Beating Impressive Act by over four lengths in third who himself was second on debut in a Class 2 maiden at York.
That could be quite good form on the face of it and the jockey, owner and trainer are doing well with their two-year-olds this season so is much the preferred option.
The betting suggests it’s a wide open contest especially with the first four with not much to split them at this stage.
Yet the other three rivals have already won so there’s clearly potential with this runner.
