LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier East tennis team hosted George Washington this past Saturday, March 25, and, unfortunately, lost the overall matches. Christian Smith did get a singles’ win to salvage the day, as the young Spartans are still finding their footing early on in the season.
Coach Jim Allder had this to say after the matchup with the Patriots.
“Our Spartans played tough today, facing heavy winds and a strong George Washington team. We took the loss, but our players are getting better every day,” Allder said.
“Shout out to Christian Smith for getting a singles’ win in the match today,” Allder concluded.
The Spartans will be in the road this week with matches against St. Albans and Oak Hill.
