ROCORI 5, Alexandria 0: The Spartans got a complete game shutout from starter Beck Loesch. He yielded only four hits and a walk versus eight strikeouts. Shortstop Jack Spanier was a terror on the basepaths. Number seven in white turned a walk into a run in the bottom of the first after advancing to second on an errant pickoff throw, getting to third on a wild pitch and coming home on a Jack Boos sacrifice fly to right. In the fifth, Spanier was hit by an inside fastball, stole second and third, then came home on a wild pitch. In the second, he lashed a two-out two-RBI double to right-center.
Little Falls 4, Sauk Rapids-Rice 0: The Storm season is finished.
The 8AAA championship round begins on Wednesday at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex. (1) ROCORI will play two games, if necessary, against the winner of Saturday afternoon’s game between (2) Alexandria and (3) Little Falls.
