Blue Point colt who didn’t live up to 8/13 price at Ascot earlier this month in a Class 3 novice event.
A few of his progeny have needed that second run to get going though and it was only a two length deficit at Ascot on soft ground, making him easy to back today.
Notably, he was a length behind second placed Valour And Swagger who was out on his second run, having won by over six lengths on debut.
It could be a quick double for owners Godolphin, trainer Charlie Appleby and jockey William Buick who have another odds-on favourite in the form of this two-year-old Dubawi colt.
Richard Hannon has Fusterlandia at a huge price of 12/1 and the yard is 7-41 with two-year-olds this season, but the market is very indicative of Impressive Act also improving on second run.
He finished two lengths behind Cuban Thunder on May 18, another Amo Racing-owned horse, which the market also got right that day.
But Impressive Act will have learned a lot from that and will easily make up more ground if facing that rival again, given he raced too keenly in the opening stages and even hung left 2f out.
This two-year-old stuck to his job in the closing stages though and will be strong finisher for connections up in trip.
Looks far the stronger horse in this race given his return from a fairly lengthy lay-off to win by close to five lengths, while eased down.
Handicapper has raised him 11lb for that success and looks set to remain winning ways.
A great price for a horse returning to good ground and a course he has a great record at.
He’s had six runs here and four of those have ended in a win.
Lost behind Ffion in September and may have needed the run in April after a 190 day break, where Gorak won at Doncaster, both of which finished within a length of each other three days ago in a Class 3.
This is also a horse that sees different jockeys on almost every run, William Carson was on board last time he won and that was also here 364 days ago.
