Clothing brand TCNS Clothing’s Incubation Cell has partnered with the National Institute of Fashion Technology to nurture emerging fashion talent. The textile design workshop in Gurgaon saw 25 NIFT students bring their textile ideas to life with industry professionals.
“TCNS believes in design that is innovative, contemporary, and functional as we continually strive to nurture and foster new talent in the retail industry,” said TCNS Clothing’s managing director Anant Daga in a press release on Match 30. “Taking this thought a step further, The Incubation Cell at TCNS has offered this unique opportunity to bring together students’ visionary ideas to the fore. We aim to stir up excitement amidst the students and acquire the best talent through INC.TEX as TCNS believes in giving a similar atmosphere of growth and learning in the organisation. Our collaboration with NIFT will provide a unique platform to the next generation of creatives and will act as a stepping stone for trailblazers in the Apparel Retail Industry.”
At the workshop, NIFT students conceptualised and created a print design for womenswear and wrote a statement about their work. Students experimented with unusual materials and TCNS Clothing textile experts guided the, along the way.
“Workshops like these help students to be better prepared for the industry, enhance synergy between them and the industry,” said NIFT’s dean Sudha Dhingra. “It is exciting to see the distinct narratives created by students while developing their innovative and conceptual designs building. I would like to thank TCNS Clothing for providing this wonderful opportunity to the students. It should be established as regular prestigious award for the students to look forward to and participating in this would enhance their learning experiences and provide motivation for excellence.”
