Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is welcoming its members, alums and the community to the “Tee It Up for Girl Scouts” golf tournament fundraiser on June 19 at Cavalry Club in Manlius. The council is bringing “Girl Scout Green” to the greens in support of its mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.
Hosted at Cavalry Club, the course offers a challenging, yet pleasurable experience for all golf levels. GSNYPENN is encouraging its girl members ages 12 and up with a love of golf to register, in addition to other area youth, as the date is a federal holiday and schools are closed.
The tournament format is an 18-hole Scramble/Captain & Crew. Individual or foursome golf tournament packages are $200 and $800 respectively and include the 18-hole scramble, greens fee, cart, box lunch, specialty gift and buffet dinner. Individuals may register to be placed on a foursome according to handicaps.
There will be prize payouts for Overall Team 1st and 2nd, Blind Draw Position and “Biggest Loser.” Bonus competitions include Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Skins Competition, 50/50 Cash Putting Contest and a $10,000 Hole in One Contest— that prize includes a car lease courtesy of Crest Cadillac. There is also a Mulligans Package and a phenomenal Silent Auction with one-of-a-kind items and experiences. Bidding is now open at gsnypenn.org/silentauction. Bidders need not be present or attend the event to win.
A cocktail hour and fundraising dinner with keynote speaker Melanie Littlejohn, Vice President for New York Customer & Community Management at National Grid, on the importance and significance of Juneteenth will take place after the tournament. Anyone can purchase separate dinner tickets for $75 each to help support the council’s mission and leadership programming for girls. Donations can also be made in support of the council using the golf tournament registration link. Sponsorships are still available; packages start at $250.
