Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, beat Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 17 seed, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday evening.
Alcaraz, ranked No 1, will play the winner of the match between Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next.
The 20-year-old Spaniard won against Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli (6-0, 6-2, 7-5), Japanese Taro Daniel (6-1, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 26 seed (6-1, 6-4, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Musetti, ranked No 18, defeated Swede Mikael Ymer (7-5, 6-2, 6-4), Russian Alexander Shevchenko (6-1, 6-1, 6-2) and No 14 seed Cameron Norrie (6-1, 6-2, 6-4).
