Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, beat Chinese Yue Yuan 6-3, 7-6 (5) to reach the last four of the Makaraska Open at Tennis Center Makarska on Friday afternoon.
Sherif, ranked No 54, will play Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed, next.
The Egyptian won against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-3, 6-2) and Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk (6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Makarska tournament, Yuan, ranked No 116, defeated Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 8 seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-0) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (6-0, 6-4).
