After a week off, the PGA Tour Champions returns this week with the Cologuard Classic, held at Omni Tucson National in Tucson, Az. For those of us currently in the Northeast, where it’s been snowing everywhere the past few days, the desert sounds like the place to be.

It would appear that is very much not the case. Late on Wednesday evening, three-time PGA Tour Champions winner Stephen Ames posted a video to Twitter of this week’s venue blanketed in snow, which seems less than ideal:

And by slight frost delay, Ames means there’s no way they are playing golf on Thursday. Fortunately, PGA Tour Champions events are only three days, and they start on Friday. With enough Arizona sun on Thursday afternoon, it should all melt away by first tee time on Friday morning, which is 10:08 a.m. M.T. As for the Pro-Am, that looks like a wash. Here’s the Thursday morning update:

Weather reports say the area received just under two inches, which is a shocking amount for Tucson, one of the southernmost parts of the state. A full two inches would have put it among the top 20 snowiest months in Tucson history, according to extremeweatherwatch.com. 

Again, though, that desert sun should be able to melt it away quickly. Prayers up for the ams who had this day circled on the calendar, though.
