The fourth round of the 2022 downhill World Cup is underway at Lenzerheide. In the Junior Racing, Gracey Hemstreet laid down another rapid run to pull ahead of the fastest qualifier Phoebe Gale by just under two seconds. Jenna Hastings wrapped up the top three, five seconds back. Kicking off the day for Pinkbike Racing Aimi Kenyon makes another podium appearance in fifth place. For the Junior Men, it was Jackson Goldstone who came out on top and went one and a half seconds faster than Lachlan Stevens-McNab. Jordan Williams went fastest in the first two splits but lost time on the second half of the track and ends the day in third place.
Myriam Nicole put together an absolutely wild run on the dusty and blown-out course to secure a massive win of over four seconds. Camille Balanche improved upon her top qualifying run but she just didn’t have the speed to match Myriam. Eleonora Farina was the only other rider within nine seconds of the winning run and completes the top three. Pinkbike Racing’s Léona Pierrini finished the day in 12th place.
The Commencal team takes a clean sweep of the Elite racing as Amaury Pierron speeds into the top spot by over 1.4 seconds. Finn Iles had been the man to beat for a large portion of the race but it wasn’t enough for the win. Greg Minnaar has a great run to take third place and even beat Amaury in split two. Finally, PB Racing’s Thibault Laly made the live feed and ended the day with a great 29th place.

The Elite Men will start at: PDT 6:45 / EDT 7:45 / BST 12:45 / CEST 13:45
First up in the Elite racing is the Women and today marks the racing return of Rachel Atherton who last raced in 2019. Rachel managed to get seventh in qualifying yesterday and we can’t wait to see what she can do today. Camille Balanche had a big run yesterday and went fastest by over four and a half seconds, Camille is flying this year and will be tough to beat.
Who do you think will win today’s racing? Can Camille Balanche back up her fastest qualifying run, or will we see someone else take the top step of the podium?
3:34 am PDT Louise Ferguson sets the first time today with a 3:37.657. We still have a ways to go before we beat Camille Balanche’s qualifying run of 3:18.898.
3:35 am PDT Pinkbike Racing’s Léona Pierrini goes into the lead, 0.5 up on Louise Ferguson.
3:38 am PDT Anna Newkirk is the next rider to take the lead, building a gap of over five and a half seconds.
Top five with 10 Riders Left

2nd. Siel Van Der Velden: 3:34.713
3rd. Léona Pierrini: 3:37.114
4th. Stacey Fisher: 3:37.346
5th. Louise Ferguson: 3:37.657
3:46 am PDT Jess Blewitt is the first of the top 10 riders and she goes across the line 1st after her first race run of the year. Jess just pulls ahead by only 0.016 after being behind the whole way down the course.
3:48 am PDT A flat tire for Nina Hoffmann and a small crash puts her back in seventh so far. What this does mean is that if Camille Balanche doesn’t win then we will have a new winner today.
3:50 am PDT Mille Johnset goes fastest by 1.19 seconds. Mille takes the fastest time in splits 2,3 and 3.
3:53 am PDT After three years away Rachel Atherton flies into the lead going green at every split. Rachel goes five seconds up on her qualifying run but this is will around 10 seconds behind Camille’s time from yesterday.
3:55 am PDT With crashes at the last two races and in qualifying, it looks like Vali Holl may have had another incident as she loses over five seconds in the second split. By split three it was incredibly close but Vali managed to fight back in the last parts of the course to go into the lead by over four seconds.
3:59 am PDT Veronika Widmann goes into third place, six seconds behind Vali Höll as the course is looking very loose and dusty.
4:02 am PDT Eleonora Farina goes fastest at the bottom of the course and takes the top spot so far by 2.779 seconds.
Top five with 3 Riders Left
1st. Eleonora Farina: 3:20.184
2nd. Vali Höll: 3:22.963
3rd. Rachel Atherton: 3:27.460
4th. Veronika Widmann: 3:29.074
5th. Mille Johnset: 3:30.310
4:06 am PDT The newly crowned European Champ Monika Hrastnik just falls short of the lead after going into the finish 1.795 back. Monika currently sits in second place with two more riders to go.
4:10 am PDT A huge run from Myriam Nicole sees her take the lead and beat Camille’s qualifying run by over seven seconds!
4:12 am PDT Camille is over one and a half seconds back at the first split. Myriam looked unstoppable on her run and it may not be beatable today.
4:15 am PDT We have a new winner in 2022 as Myriam Nicole wins in Lenzerheide! Camille Balanche goes across the line four seconds back and into 2nd place.
Closing out the racing is the Men and we are in for a massive fight as yesterday’s qualifying was incredibly tight. The course is looking very dusty after the previous races and this could make things tough but after Myriam’s rapid performance we could have some wild runs. Amaury Pierron managed to come out on top yesterday but he did not have the best times in every split so there are plenty of chances to find more speed today.
Who do you think will win today’s racing? Will we see Amaury or one of the top qualifiers take the win? Could we even see a shock performance from someone outside of the top 30 starting riders?

5:11 am PDT Tuhoto-Ariki Pene’s time is holding so far and while it is faster than Amaury Pierron’s top qualifier we are still a second back from Jackson Goldstone’s winning run.
5:17 am PDT Aaron Gwin goes into the lead by 0.365 seconds. The Intense bike seems to be running better after we saw Dakotah Norton take second in qualifying.
5:21 am PDT Despite still struggling with his injury from Fort William Loic Bruni is back racing and manages to ride down to sixth so far.
5:23 am PDT Laurie Greenland will be disappointed with his run as he is already back in ninth place.
Top five with 20 riders left
1st. Aaron Gwin: 2:51.090
2nd. Tuhoho-Ariki Pene: 2:51.455
3rd. Antoine Rogge: 2:52.419
4th. Dylan Levesque: 2:52.517
5th. Connor Fearon: 2:52.556
5:33 am PDT Danny Hart comes the closest to Aaron so far but he is still 0.3 back. It’s wild that we haven’t seen anyone beat Jackson Goldstone yet.
5:38 am PDT Angel Suarez was on a run that could have beaten both Aaron Gwin and Jackson Goldstone but after tapping a tree he goes into fourth place so far.
5:42 am PDT Finn Iles puts the new Specialized into the top spot so far by a massive 2.5 seconds. Whatever changes they have made are clearly working for him.
5:45 am PDT Greg Minnaar looked smooth but it wasn’t quite enough to beat Finn and he loses time at the bottom of the track to go 2nd by 0.3 seconds.
5:48 am PDT Bernard Kerr keeps on it all the way down to push Aaron Gwin outside the top three and slots in behind Finn and Greg, two seconds back.
5:57 am PDT Charlie Hatton was right on Finn Iles until the bottom part of the track where he lost a bit of time. Charlie’s run was still fast and he goes 1.8 back and into third.
6:00 am PDT A small crash for Brook MacDonald pushes him down to 37th so far.
Top five with 10 riders left
1st. Finn Iles: 2:48.555
2nd. Greg Minnaar: 2:48.858
3rd. Charlie Hatton: 2:50.410
4th. Bernard Kerr: 2:50.653
5th. Aaron Gwin: 2:51.090
6:10 am PDT Thibaut Daprela just makes it into the top five, 2.1 seconds back from Finn Iles.
6:17 am PDT Matt Walker goes 1.4 back and into third place with six riders left. Finn’s time is looking strong but he wasn’t fastest at every split so there is still room to improve.
6:21 am PDT Andreas Kolb posed a real threat to Finn Iles but a slow bottom section dropped him to third place, 0.310 off the top time.
Top five with five riders left
1st. Finn Iles: 2:48.555
2nd. Greg Minnaar: 2:48.858
3rd. Andreas Kolb: 2:48.865
4th. Matt Walker: 2:50.001
5th. Charlie Hatton: 2:50.410
6:22 am PDT A massive crash for Luca Shaw! Luckily he is quickly on his feet and heading down the course.
6:27 am PDT Benoit Coulanges has a huge flat landing but it doesn’t slow him down too much as he goes into fourth place, 1.3 behind Finn.
6:31 am PDT We have only two riders left and Finn Iles is still in the lead. Loris Vergier falls back to seventh place after being off the pace the whole way down. Finn has definitely put down something special today and it has to be a sign that the new bike is working well.
6:33 am PDT Dakotah Norton is over a second up at split three but he goes down just as he goes through the split!
6:34 am PDT There is now only Amaury Pierron left to beat Finn. We all know Amaury is one of the wildest riders at the World Cups and he is going to need something big to come out on top today.
6:35 am PDT The first split sees Amaury 0.362 up, let’s see if he can keep this up.
6:36 am PDT Amaury is over 1.3 seconds up at split three! He was the favourite in our poll for the winner today but he still has the bottom part of the course where Finn was very fast.
6:37 am PDT Amaury Pierron wins in Lenzerheide by a massive 1.4 seconds!
