Celine Boutier
Duke (2012-16)
ACC Rookie of the Year (2012-13)
National Player of the Year (2013-14)
All-America (2014-15)
Boutier has been on a tear so far in 2023, competing in nine events and finishing in tied for 14tj or better in six of them, including her second career victory and two other top-five finishes. After opening the year with a 26th-place finish at the Hilton Grant Vacations Tournament of Champions, Boutier notched the first of her top-five finishes, ending 17-under-par for a tied-for-fourth mark at the Honda LPGA Thailand. She followed that result by opening March with a tied-for-11th finish at the HSBC Women’s Championship, starting off 9-under-par through the first three rounds before an unfortunately shooting even in the final round to just miss out on the top 10. But Boutier bounced back, closing March out with a huge win at the LPGA Drive On Championship. Buoyed by strong second and third rounds where she finished six and 7-under-par, respectively, Boutier notched a 20-under-par final mark and 67.00 average score that would earn her the win. At the following LOTTE and Chevron Championships, Boutier continued her run, making it five straight top-15 finishes by ending the LOTTE Championship tied-for-13th at 6-under-par and the Chevron Championship tied-for-14th with a 4-under-par final. She returned to the top 10 the Bank of Hope LPGA Match at the end of May, advancing to the quarterfinals and placing fifth. Currently, Boutier sits fourth in the CME Ranking and 11th in the Rolex Ranking, with some impressive statistics this year backing that up. Through the second-most events played (9) and fourth-most total rounds (35), Boutier ranks top-20 in seven key categories this season. These include being eighth in rounds under par (18), second in sand saves (74.07%), 13th in scoring average (70.27), and 14th, 16th, and 16th in eagles, birdies, and rounds under par. Kim is up and running in her second year on the LPGA Tour, having competed in six events between March and May. While Kim would fail to make the cut in two of the three following events, the other event was a personal-best for her young career.
