Oh So Bright sets the standard but it may be worth siding with KATIE BAIRDIE (nap) who gave the impression she may improve for a drop in distance at Cork last time. Marble Angel warrants respect for a yard that do well at this venue.
Spanish Cara will be a big player if she settles better this time but she’s likely to be well found in the market. HER LADYSHIP may offer a bit of each-way value after her promising run in a Cork maiden that has worked out well.
Conservant won this last year from a 3lb lower mark and Redshore City warrants respect after getting off the mark at the Curragh last time. However, a flyer is taken on NO SPEED LIMIT who may be able to dominate from the front with a handy draw to work with.
This can go the way of GRANN’S BOY who signed off last season with a Flat success and he showed his well-being with a respectable run over timber a fortnight ago. Course and distance winner, Glyde Ranger, was in fair form on all-weather when last seen and Neddies Boy could be in the mix if he’s as good on turf.
Although hit with a 9lb rise for her Gowran win, CAMELOT ALEXANDER shaped like a filly with a lot more improvement in her and she is taken to see off her elders here. Both God Knows and You Owe Me Money look serious threats on the back of very promising comeback runs, while Joseph O’Brien’s import Belhaven has to be respected, especially if strong in the market. Whimsy could go well at a price.
Some interesting recent collateral lines of form here. SAFFRONANDBLUE got a 10lb hike for beating Angel On Fire at Leopardstown last month but is less exposed and open to greater improvement of the pair, especially at this longer trip. Dromore Glory had Kartayaz behind when second at Dundalk recently after a long absence but has a wide draw to contend with here, while top-weight Darkened can’t be ruled out on recent AW form.
Having looked to win with a bit in hand at Cork recently under a talented 7lb claimer SOLAR DRIVE faces a stiffer task here off as 9lb higher mark but travelled strongly at Cork and should be at least as effective at this shorter trip. He gets the vote ahead of Naas winner Moutarde and Sylkie, with Out For A Stroll the potential improver on handicap debut.
